A Milwaukee original, more than 15 years in
Habanero’s was built on a simple idea: bring the recipes and regions of Mexico to Milwaukee, and serve them in a room that feels warm the second you walk in. From guacamole crushed at the table to a tequila list that surprises people, the goal was always food that’s a little unexpected and always fresh.
Since the late 2000s, that idea has grown into a neighborhood fixture on both sides of the metro — the Mayfair-district dining room in Wauwatosa and the “& Margarita” kitchen on Greenfield’s southside. Two freestanding restaurants, one family recipe box, and a whole lot of regulars.
